Hi, I’m Jodi-Lynn. Though most people call me Jodi, Jodes, or Jodels, I’ve always been the kind of person who embraces standing out. Being the “black sheep” in a crowd was never something I tried to hide; it’s what pushed me to push limits, think differently, and create my own path.

From a young age, I learned the value of consistency and courage. Whether it was starting a 14-year journey in club and school cross-country at just eight years old, or being the only matriculant in my grade to take on an eighth subject as part of a pilot class, I’ve always believed that growth happens when you step into the unknown.

After matriculating from Norman Henshilwood High School in 2021 with a Bachelor’s pass, I went on to complete my BCom in Strategic Management (NQF Level 7) at IIE Varsity College, graduating in April 2025. I’m currently pursuing an Advanced Digital Marketing Course (NQF Level 5) through the Digital School of Marketing in Sandton, combining the strategic and creative sides of marketing that truly inspire me.

Along the way, I’ve taken part in several voluntary learning experiences, including the Business Today Simulation, where I gained hands-on exposure to marketing, strategy, operations, and finance; the Copywriting Fundamentals course from Vega School; and UniAthena’s Microsoft Excel program. I’ve also attended webinars such as “Closing the Knowing-Doing Gap: Resilience, Culture, and Leadership Performance” and “Building Brands for Gen Z’s Transparent Era.” Each of these moments shaped how I see marketing: not just as a business tool, but as a way to connect with people.

Professionally, I’ve worked with Virtually Everything For You, a marketing and event planning company, and Olympic Spartan Harriers Athletic Club, both of which gave me real-world experience in event coordination, teamwork, client communication, and adaptability. My time as a temporary receptionist also helped refine my organizational, administrative, and people skills, qualities that I now bring into every project I take on.

Creatively, I’m constantly exploring new ways to express ideas. I’ve designed two conceptual campaigns for Red Bull and Essence, where I combined storytelling, UX design, and content strategy to bring brand concepts to life. You can view them under the "MARKETING PORTFOLIO" section of this site.

At my core, I’m driven by curiosity, creativity, and connection. I thrive in dynamic spaces that value innovation, diversity, and growth; environments where ideas can turn into something meaningful. For me, marketing isn’t just about selling, it’s about telling stories that move people and make an impact.
